Legal Question in Family Law in California

fathers right to child custody

I was told by my court appointed attorney, that the courts would not allow me custody of my son, for reasons, I have not had any contact with him do to his mother's prevention. The mother was found guilty of abandonment, and my son is now placed in a group home under county supervision being heavly medicated.
