Legal Question in Family Law in California

I filed for Divorce in California and requested a fee waiver. The court accepted the initial filing but has yet to respond on the fee waiver. Do I serve the respondent anyway or wait for the fee waiver to be approved?

You can serve the respondent, but you should be aware that if the court denies your fee waiver, it will give you a period of time to pay the filing fee. If you do not pay the filing fee, the court will then strike or dismiss your petition.
