Legal Question in Family Law in California
Help
My ex filed an OSC for sole custody, and I had already filed one for less visitation for him and more child support. (He did not know that I had filed, and I didn't know that he had.) He is saying that I am not providing a good lifestyle for our son. He also says that I have prevented him from having a good relationship with our son, and have not informed him of decisions I have made on our son's behalf. Our son is also doing very poorly in school, but mostly because of his teacher. His allegations are partially true; I wish that he weren't around and I could raise my son the way that I want. Could my ex possibly get custody if I have denied these things to him?

Re: Help
The short answer is yes. California law favors the parent that is most likely to encourage visitation with the non custodial parent. It appears that you are interfering with father having a meaningful relationship with the child.
