Legal Question in Family Law in California

hello...Ive been married for 25 years, living together 28 years. My husband left 9 months ago to rent a house, and move in with his girlfriend. This came with no warning. He puts money in our bank account every week, however, its less and less. Ive asked him for more money, for help, he will not respond or communicate. We have an 19 year old son with down syndrome who lives with me. My husband has walked away from his family, and is no longer the same person. I am going to file for divorce, what questions should i ask the lawyer? What are my rights here?

You should speak to a competent family lawyer in person. The concerns that you raise here are legitimate concerns.

Your public law library should have the series of books on divorce published by Nolo Press. I would encourage you to review these materials so that you have a better sense of the process and can get the most useful information from your consultation with a qualified family law attorney. One key feature in your case is appropriate support for your disabled child. You need to make certain that your child's father makes proper arrangements for support that do not undermine your son's eligibility for disability benefit payments and services.
