Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am trying to get joint custody of my 7 year old son. Currently my ex-wife has sole custody. I am wondering what I need to do to get joint custody. Is this something I can do without involving the ex-wife?

You would have to file a motion or OSC requesting a change in custody from sole to joint custody. The ex will definitely have to be involved in the request to change custody.

There are two types of custody, legal custody and physical custody. Do you still have parental rights in the child? Contact me directly.
