kick out son/daughter for different religious belief

Are parents legally allowed to kick out a son or daugher for a having different religious belief, or no belief?

If the child is 18 or older the parents have no duty to support the child unless the child is unable to support himself or herself. Should the parents kick a minor child out of the house the child could go into foster care and the parents could be ordered by the court to pay child support.
