Legal Question in Family Law in California

I live with my boyfriend in California and we have a 9 month old. Does the law state that I cannot leave the state without his written permission or a court order? he wants me to sign an agreement stating that I acknowledge that neither party can remove the minor without written consent from the other or a court order. Am I giving up any rights if I sign this? Or is this just stating what the law states? What's the point of signing this if thats already what the law states?

I think you answered your own question. Why sign a document that is, according to him, a useless legal document? I don't recommend it, unless you get something out of it, like a set amount of child support, not allowing new girlfriends around the child until there is a ring and a date, and whatever you feel is best to protect your daughter. I would wonder why a boyfriend would be asking for this, unless he is an ex, so make sure You and your daughter's rights are protected not just his. I would consult an attorney before signing anything he asks you to sign.
