Legal Question in Family Law in California

Local Lawyer

In the near future I will be needing to go to court for child support. I am a resident of San Diego, but the child support papers are from Santa Clara County where my two children and ex-wife reside. Would it be better to get a local lawyer here in San Diego, or should I try to contact one in Santa Clara County? I have received suggestions to contact a lawyer at Santa Clara County because their would not be any travel expenses involved, but it seems every lawyer I have contacted from Santa Clara County seems to either be too busy for me, or plainly will not take my case because I reside in San Diego. Any suggestions or recommendations will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Local Lawyer

Keep looking in Santa Clara County there will be an attorney that will take your case. There are many attorney's in Santa Clara County that do family law. You may have to pay a higher than usual retainer because you live out of the county but should be able to find an attorney if you keep looking.
