Legal Question in Family Law in California

We married 2001 and have been separated since 2010. I want to file for divorce. My husband started up his small internet business in 1999 with his friend with a couple hundreds dollars to register a corporation. There were very little profit from the business until 2002 or 2003. His company started growing around 2004 and was bought up by a large corporation in 2006. He now claims that the money he got from the acquisition is 100% private property but not common property.

Does the court count on the fact that growth of his business during marriage as community property?

I did not involve in his business at all. we are in CA,
