Legal Question in Family Law in California

I've been married 20 years. I've worked for 20 years. My husband retired at 53. 1 year after I married him. We have kept most of our money separate, except for homes and paying bills. He has about 4 times more money than I do. We have no children. Am I entitled to alimony or a settlement?

Any property acquired with earnings during the course of the marriage becomes community. You have a very long marriage. Any bank accounts retirement profit-sharing and any other assets that were acquired with earnings would be something you would be dividing equally between yourselves. In addition to that, you may be entitled to spousal support. You have a lot at stake. Please meet with an experienced family law attorney to explore your legal options and to protect your rights.
