Legal Question in Family Law in California

Is it possible and how can I get a paternity test done when the baby(presumably my baby) is born and still in the hospital? I have already filed a Request for Order including the DNA testing and custody (50/50) and have a court date almost a month after the childs due date. We have mediation prior to the due date though. What are my options in getting the test done as soon as possible as not to delay the process or custody (though that presents a challenge of its own.)

You can't compel someone to submit to genetic testing without a court order. The baby does not have to be present in the hospital to have this done, but rather can have the testing done at an accredited facility ordered by the court.
