petition withdrawal

If the plaintiff wants to withdraw the petition, does he/she need to file something or just does not appear in the court to get the case dismissed. If this case, the respondent has to appear in the court?

You can voluntarily dismiss the case or, if you take no further action, the court will dismiss the case. In neither event would the Respondent have to appear.
