Legal Question in Family Law in California

What is the best way to remove a 60 yo son who has resided in the same house as his 90 year old parents with no job, no skills & abusing alcohol & drugs for decades from continuing the intense abuse of his own parents verbally & demanding cash for his addictions? (Verbal abuse against both parents & physical altercations with his other employed, responsible brothers. Last altercation 1 week ago. Police reports filed.)

One of the brothers already has a power of attorney. How would a restraining order help? It's just a piece of paper. What's best?

Sad in Pasadena. :(

These situations are the most heart wrenching and difficult. The best thing to do is to go to court and get a restraining order for the removal of son from the residence. What your parents are suffering through is elder abuse. They do not need to be terrorized in their own home.

This area is a law is somewhat complicated. Your parents would greatly benefit from the assistance of an experienced local family law attorney.
