Legal Question in Family Law in California

Hi, I have a restraining order in place against my ex. One of the items is regarding our dog, and the order states he is not to remove the dog from the house. He had already taken the dog when I got the restraining order and he has yet to bring the dog back to the house. I have called the police and they stated that they would call him and tell him to return the dog. It has been several days and he has not complied. What is the next step? Do I file a contempt of court order or is there something I can file to have the order enforced and force the return of the dog?

If you have a CLETS restraining order, the police are empowered to intervene and arrest your ex for violating that order and assist in the return of the dog. If the TRO is a non-CLETS order, you will have to return to the judge to ask for enforcement.
