Legal Question in Family Law in California

How do you seal court records?

Say for example you are a defendant in a civil restraining order case. As the defendant you file an answer; along with that you accidently file a police report which includes your social security number. To legally redact personal information such as your SSN from court documents so that it may not be displayed as public records, what should I do? Do I have any options?

You should ask the court the judge to redact your social security number.
