If you can't afford a lawyer, all I can suggest you do is get a copy of How to Do Your Own Divorce in California, by Nolo Press, read through it, and then go to the Family Law Facilitator in your local courthouse. Between the book and the procedural help of the FLF, you should be able to get your case in front of a judge. From there it's a matter of presenting your facts and reasoning as clearly as possible and hoping for the best.
