Legal Question in Family Law in California

Wrongful Termination of Marriage

I wanted to know the basis to terminate a marriage and finalize a divorce if both parties are present or at least to agreement. My mom was going through a divorce and she became incarcerated and because she wasn't present for her court dates her lawyer relieved himself of duty and the marriage was the terminated leaving her with nothing terminating spousely support and everything. They had total of 3.3 million dollars worth in property that they had together but within the remaining months of marriage transfered titles to his parents name...So is it too late to do anything about it, appeal? or something ..Can they finalize the termination without her ??? and/or consent?

Re: Wrongful Termination of Marriage

Her options, if any, will depend upon exactly what had been done prior to the marrige being disolved, and what occurred when the marriage was disolved. Timing is also important. You should get her consent and then pickup the file from her attorney, get a copy of the court file. Then consult with independent counsel regarding her options.
