Legal Question in Medical Leave in California

How long does an employer pay for medical insurance for an employee on Maternity

We have an employee that has gone on maternity leave and is collecting disability insurance since mid June of 2001. She won't give us a date in which she will be returning to work but says she will be coming back. Her disability runs out today for it will be 6wks. Our company pays in full for her medical insurance. If she doesn't come back for another month or more are we by law expected to continue to pay for her medical insurance?

Yes, you are required to continue paying for her medical insurance, which may be up to 4 months.
