Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Bail Bond Indemnitor Liability

i bailed my ex-boyfriend out of jail but did not sign any contract or paperwork. I just gave credit card information over the phone. Could I still be held liable if he doesn't show up for his court appearances etc...?

Re: Bail Bond Indemnitor Liability

Yes you could be held liable for the bail company loss. The bonding company will expect you to pay the amount of the bond. That is if the bond is in the amount of $10,000, the $1,000 you paid was merely a premium you paid for the bonding company to put up the bond. If the bond is forfeited then you will be expected the full $10,000.
