Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

a burned dress

At my nephew's reception dinner, I was serving myself from the buffet when my dress caught on fire. Later I was told that the worker was lighting the bunson burner and still had a flame on her torch. My dress was burned near my calf of my leg and was obvious that it was caused by someone. The manager offered to pay for the dress, but I feel I should ask for or get more than the cost of my dress. Do I have the right or the case to ask for more than my dress reimbursed?
