Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Change of business name

Last August, we sued a vehicle repair shop. They haven't paid, and the name of the shop is different now, but I know they still hold a license in the name we sued at that same address, as well as a Ca. State license. They run this shop as a DBA. Can we still put a keeper in the shop? We're so desperate to get out money, but aren't sure what the right procedure is now. I know it costs $195.00 to put a keeper, so I can't afford to lose more money. Thank you so very much for any information you can give.

Re: Change of business name

If you can prove they are the same people, and they are part of the judgment defendants, go straight ahead.

Re: Change of business name

You better be able to prove it is the SAME company using a new dba. If you attach the wrong company, you risk serious legal problems. Check the corporate records and dba records of both company names.
