Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Employee attack customer

I was recently in a grocery store when a girl that I had in previous bad dealings with attacked me. I suffered considerable damages and I was wondering if the grocery store in which she was employed with at the time of the attack could be held liable for my damages or is just my attacker liable?

Re: Employee attack customer

from the facts given thus far, if this female employee "attacked" you during the scope of her employment, the company itself could be vicarious liable for her intentional attack against you depending on the nature of the circumstances and extent of your injuries. from the sounds of things so far, you definitely appear to have a VERY strong case against both this female employee as well as her employer for the full extent of your injuries and damages. please email my law firm directly with more details on the incident, what transpired from start to finish, what the "dispute" was about in the first place, how the company responded to the situation before and after it occurred, the monetary extent of your damages, etc...we can then further evaluate and assess your legal remedies against both the employee and employer and possibly offer strong representation to you in order to ensure justice is served. thank you for your question.

The employer may be liable for your damages. Was the girl who attacked you working at the time of the incident? Was the employer aware of this employee's violent propensities?

You're out of luck here. The store owner could not have foreseen that this lady would attack you so it is entirely on her.

Yes, if the attack occured during the course of employment, the grocery store can be held vicariously liable.
