Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
If personal lawsuit papers are incomplete at the time of the serving are they still considered served? The first page of the suit was missing.

I would not rely on that to not answer the complaint.

I agree with Mr. Selik. Don't allow your default to be taken over something where you can call the plaintiff and ask for a copy of the first page to be sent to you. Defaults are very hard to get out of.
