Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

No sun

My neighbor property is 30'' higher than my property and has trees that have grown like a forest. It blocks our sun all day and makes our property dark & cold in the winter. His property line is only 15 feet from ours. We are both over seventy years old and need the warm of the sun to make us feel comfortable during the day. Because of the trees our property is not bright and airy and demises the value of our property. Do I have any legal recourse?

Re: No sun

No, unless your community requires trees to be trimmed or pruned beyond what your neighbor has done. Alternatively, if you both are part of a homeowners association there may be covenants attached to each home which impose such requirements. Neither of these possibilities is very likely, so I'm afraid there is probably not much you can do.
