Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I am a teacher, but am also activities and yearbook director/coordinator. I am entitled to a stipened for both additional jobs, but have yet to receive them. The school ear ended June 30, 2010. I want/need my money.

The second issue is regarding summer school pay. I worked summer school and was told I'd be paid August 9. This was a special program, therefore it did not go thru the regular summer school pay process. We have yet to be paid, and they have no idea when we will be paid.

Both incidents are causing financial hardships as I am on a 10-month pay cycle and I work summer school to supplement my income. Please advise.

I would file a claim with the State Labor Commissioner, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

If you in a union controlled position, then file a pay grievance, it is your only remedy.

If you are not, then you could file an unpaid compensation claim with the Labor Commissioner, if you have proof you are actually entitled to pay that was not received. You have the right to hire an attorney to represent you in the hearings and trial if contested, and to recover those fees IF you win. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
