Legal Question in Health Care Law in California

Can i give out information about the other parent to my childrens doctor?

When i went into my sons ortho apointment, they had notified me that he would need braces. I have medical insurance threw the government and my ex husband had provided them court ordered medical insurance also. So when I had went in for his apointment they had told me that he was in great need of braces but the medical wont pay for them. The receptionist there had asked me if I can give her information on our sons fathers medical insurance provided to him. So i had gave her all the information they needed. Which was his social security, address and medical number. The receptionist told me that the insurance he had provided was very very limited and really didnt cover much. Our son had recieved his braces and now my ex husband had recieved a medical bill and now he is threatening me that he is going to take me to court if i dont fix this and that i am commiting fraud.

My question is.....Can i give out information about the other parent to my childrens doctor?

Am i commiting fraud since our son is a minor and is he liable to pay.

Usually the court order says that the non-custodial parent has to pay 50% of uninsured medical expenses. Let him take you to court (he won't).
