Legal Question in Health Care Law in California

Mandatory health insurance
My college told me that I must use their health insurance. I have my own health coverage but they said that I must use theirs. Is this legal for them to require me to purchase their coverage in order to attent?

What's their basis for forcing you to purchase their insurance?

What if you refuse? What if you do not wish to carry health insurance?

Are they going to choose your meal menu as well? How about partners to date? I can go on and on...

This sounds like dictatorial. Have you asked them to provide some authority for their position? Get on their face. This does not sound right.
