Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

Bring Sister and her Husband to USA

I am a Network Eng. and my Wife is a Doctor. We both are trying to bring my sister (She is a teacher and her husband is an accountant) to USA form IRAQ to be our baby sitter for our three children. Is it possible? And what the percentage if that can happen? If that possible, how long will take? How can I start? Thank you.

Re: Bring Sister and her Husband to USA

For young people who are au pairs, there's the J-1 visa available and that's temporary (1 year at most). But for a married woman who wants to babysit for you, it's almost impossible to do a labor certification because that's not a skilled position. It still will take years. You didn't say if you are a citizen or green card holder, etc., so family immigration is possible but it'll still take years unless you petitioned for her a long time ago.
