Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

statute of limitations for settling an injury claim

I was injured in an automobile accident 102 weeks ago. other party at fault.

i told his insurer that I would file an injury claim when I was sure that my treatments were complete.

I have not filed the claim and the statute of limitations for settling the claim or filing a lawsuit ends in 2 weeks. I talked to s couple of attorneys who wouldn't take the case until after I ''filed a suit with the appropriate court''...

What does this mean?

What should I do?
