Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

I own the copyright of a dvd i produced. If anyone tries to sell or replicate/duplicate the dvd without my permission is that legal, can I stop them.

Yes, you can stop them. As Mr. Nelson has indicated, however, doing so may be very costly. Also, if the infringer is overseas, say in China, it may be impossible to stop the infringement.
