Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Software plug-in IP infringment?

Hi,

my company is developing a plug-in for Internet Explorer, this is a small modification that increases its functionality.

Do I need to get permission from Microsoft to do this? Ive seen all sorts of browser addins across the net, from toolbars to flash plugins, did these all get permission?

Can anyone offer some advice?

Thanks

Cinnamon

Definitely !!! They could be interested in licensing the plug-in from you. Microsoft is very active in protecting its IP rights. You should have some kind of agreement with them.

Yes,

You do need a license from Microsoft. I have tried lawsuits against Microsoft, and they are very aggressive in protecting their intellectual property.

I have negotiated a large number of license agreements, and would be happy to assist you.
