Re: Father took my truck and sold it

My recommendation is to have a man-to-man discussion with your dad, find the root causes of the problems between you, and try to get in communication. You don't have to like each other, you just have to deal with each other on the up-and-up, no sneaky stuff and no withheld information or feelings.

Then, don't drive without insurance and a license.

Don't forget to receive and read your mail, register your vehicles, and otherwise keep your personal affairs on a 'heads-up' basis. Life is a hassle when things aren't handled. Losing your license over this is a symptom that your affairs are in disarray. Get it together, man!

Legally speaking, I remember, 'He who sells what isn't his'n, must buy it back or go to prison.' Looks like your father owes you half of the sale proceeds, maybe adjusted for his costs of sale and premiums on any insurance he bought for your benefit.

There may be other facts I'm unaware of, so this should be considered an incomplete and general answer and not specific legal advice.
