I am sorry that your perception of attorneys is so dark. First, you have to understand that attorneys are like everyone else - they have to make a living and support themselves. Advice is an attorney's only "stock & trade," meaning, an attorney's advice is the only product they have to sell. If they gave it away, they would quickly go broke. The same is true for many types of doctors - they charge you to get advice and information about your health. It's funny, but nobody seems to challenge a doctor's right to charge for his time and advice, but attorneys are always a target for people to complain that they charge too much, or that people shouldn't have to pay for their advice. I hope you can understand that most are simply not in a position to work for free.

That being said, if you contact the local legal aid society, they'll work up your case and put it out for attorneys who do volunteer their time. You have to contact the legal aid office, register and provide them with the required information, and then wait for an attorney who wants to assist you to come forward and make the offer. Tens-of-thousands of hours are donated by attorneys every year to legal aid, so that is your best option to find someone who will assist you with little hope of being paid for their time. Good luck - your situation sounds terrible, and I'm sure that through legal aid, you can find some assistance.
