Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My landlords process server took me by surprise by opening up my car door and throwing in the complaint. It was nit until i snapped out of momentary shock that i even realize what, and who this person was. He then slammed the car door injuring my wrist (i was trying to get out a speak to him) and said only this "I'm the process server!" and coward away. What kind of service does this fall under?

I agree with Mr. Rosales. I assume that a summons was with the complaint. Service of the complaint alone would not be valid.

Rude but legally valid personal service if you received both a copy of the complaint and the summons.
