Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I currently live in a 5 bedroom house with my father and younger sister. When my father rented this home he put my name on the lease. Now, My father is kicking me out of the house and I want my name off the lease. He told me to take him to court and that he wouldn't take my name off the lease or even notify the landlords. I don't have anyway of getting the landlords phone number and I don't know what my rights are, or what I should do.

You will want to look up in the County records who owns the house; then you will want to notify the owner/landlord that you will be withdrawing from the lease since you will be moving out. Keep in mind that if the lease so provides and the landlord can still hold you responsibile for the lease payments as per the lease, then we will want to explore other options for getting you off the lease. This is an ideal situation for your local "pro bono" mediation services...since, after all, it is family and you will have some level of continuing relationship with him.
