Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I live in Orange County California. I currently rent an apartment and a new tenant move in to another apartment. She has complained that my son and brother are making her feel uncomfortable. She has told the owners and now they sent me a letter stating that my tenancy is in jeporardy and that my brother is no longer allow on the property or in my apartment. Aside note: She has been partying with my son and brother and one tenants in the building before. I also have no problems with another else here. Can they legally do this?

Absent any rent control rule to the contrary, the landlord can limit visitors who are causing problems. The landlord can also refuse to renew the lease for any reason or none at all. You need to check if you are under rent control; talk to the neighbor about why there is a problem and then to the owner to try to get them to understand it is not your family's fault.
