Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Pets

I recieved a letter on my front porch from the Manager of my apartment complex stating that I have violated my lease agreement (which has expired 2 months ago) because I am not in a pet location & I have a dog. I have had her here for over a year, there are also 4 other residents in my building that also have dogs not in pet locations. They are giving me 3 days to find new housing, is this legal?

Re: Pets

basically, if your pet has been with you for an entire year and management knew and impliedly approved of it being there until right now, this would be a waiver issue and you are within your rights to fight the unlawful detainer proceedings. however, it may be more costly than actually relocating elsewhere. feel free to email directly if you would like further assistance in this matter.
