Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

i rent a room where there are several roommates a certain roomate and i do not get along and every time i leave the house he finds a way to lock me out and then gets in my room (my lock is now broken) and takes clothes personal hygeine stuff,just little stuff but it is adding up. when i say something to him about it it threatens me with violence and verbally abuses me everyday.what can i do

Depending upon how the roommate situation is structured, you should complain to the landlord, or if you are renting from one of the other tenants in the property, then to them. The other roommate is probably violating the convenant of quiet enjoyment, which would allow you either insist that the landlord remove the offending roommate, or allow you to terminate your lease. The easiest solution is, quite honestly, to just move.
