After doing a short sale. Im still left broke and have no where to live.

How long can I stay in my home before the sherrifs will make me move out.

It depends on how long it takes for the new owner to serve you with a three day quit notice and how you resist the unlawful detainer case. If you get served and do nothing, the new owner will take your default and the case will move faster. Once a judgment of possession is entered, the court issues a writ of possession. When the sheriff serves you with a writ of possession, you have five (5) days to move or the sheriff will remove you from the premises.
