Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

My husband and I had decided that we were ready to stop having children after two beautiful babies and were going to have the Essure procedure performed by my OB/GYN after the birth of our son (we had him at a Catholic hospital and could not have a standard tubal). The Essure does not take affect for three months (it's a non hormonal treatment) and it is advised that patients use another form of birth control so we decided to use the depo provera injection. After the procedure I was told to expect slight scamping and spotting for a couple of days but that I should be able to resume regular activity the same day. I didn't have any cramps at all the fallowing day but I continued to bleed quite a bit for almost a week and I called my doctor and he gave me a prescription for a hormone (another birth control pill) to stop the bleeding for a few days. Three short term prescriptions of this pill later I was still bleeding. I went to the ER because I couldn't take a breath and had a sincere fear I was going to die. I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and admitted. EEG, Chest x-ray, CT of my chest, Doppler of my legs, heparin IV and coumadin, pain medication and steroids. I am not a carrier of a genetic trait and have seen a hematologist since leaving the hospital and will be on coumadin treatment for 6 months to a year. The hematomlogist has stated from all indication that the cause of my clots was the multiple hormones that I was put on and that I should have never been put on them at the same time, for any length of time. I need to know if I have a reasonable case or if I should just find a new doctor.

Yes, sounds like you have a valid and valuable case. If you've already been told that ["should have never been put on"] by doctors, then you've already got the medical opinion that is legally required in order to file suit. Feel free to contact me to discuss the situation if you are serious about pursuing this.
