Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I am agreeing to a settlement amount in an auto injury case, my lawyer told me what the ins. offered. It is small, but I need the funds, so I told my lawyer, on the 13th of April, put the money in my pocket by the end of the month and I agree to it. He was going to email the forms to me, I would print them up, sign them, fax them back, then wait for the check. My questions is once I sign the forms, can they wait as long as they want to then before paying me? Is there a limited time? Thankyou

Different settlement agreements say different things, though most have a great deal in common with one another. Since you insisted on a deadline, your lawyer probably had it inserted into the agreement. You should read the forms and see whether it's in there.
