Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I ate oatmeal early this morning/night as a snack and woke up later vomiting. my son woke me up after that and said there were bugs in his oatmeal, the same oatmeal I ate. I vomited again an hour after that but there was a tiny bit of blood (just a little). I am going to the emergency room just to make sure I am ok. I also kept my son's cereal with the bugs in it inside of a ziplock bag. What should I do? Has anyone died from this kind of thing?
