Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Case Management Statement

I am representing myself. I have been unable to serve the defendant. I am unable to finalize the information for damages. Can I request an extension in the Case Management Statement for one or both circumstances? (referring to #19 on CM-110)

Re: Case Management Statement

Not in the Case Management Statement.

Send the Case Management Statement in with as much info as you can. There is a box to check to let the judge know the defendant has not been served yet, and let the judge know that you are awaiting information to determine the true extent of your damages, to properly list in the statement of damages. The Judge should give you a coninuance AT the case management hearing. If you want a continuance you are going to have to show at the hearing and tell the judge why. Best of luck.
