Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

My husband was in an accident that he claims was not his fault. However, a "witness" claims that my husband was driving recklessly and he now has to go to court on arraignment for VC 23103. There was no alcohol or drugs involved. Do we need an attorney, does he plead guilty? What do we do?

At least consult with a lawyer before going to court or after the first appearance in court. Do not enter any plea until the lawyer reviews the police report. Just ask the judge for a two week continuance to consult with an attorney before deciding how to plea in the case. That charge is a misdemeanor and may carry a jail term plus a large fine and license suspension. Therefore, you need to take charge seriously and try to get it reduced to an infraction at least.
