Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Injury Accident

If I was the passenger in a car accident where the car that I was in was totaled and I was/am injured and no one's insurance has contacted me, what can I do? The driver was given a rental car but I still have to drive my straight stick and I can barely move my head! Who do I contact and why has no insurance contacted me?

Re: Injury Accident

The other parties' insurers are wondering why you haven't called them -- and are hoping you won't. Their job is to defend and resolve claims against their insured, not to invite people to bring such claims. You're the one who has to take the initiative.

If your injuries and/or property damage are substantial you should be able to find a lawyer who is willing to represent you on a contingent fee basis.

Bear in mind that there are time limits on filing lawsuits; since I don't know when this accident occurred I don't know how much time (if any) you have left. You should start looking for a lawyer immediately.
