Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Personal Injury/Slip & fall

OK, It's probably too late for this one, but I did sustain personal injury....One more question:

In Nov 2001, I fell down the steps (the last 4 steps of about 20) just outside my apt. I hurt my back so excruciating that I had to have an ambulance take me to the hospital where I was hospitalized for 5 days. The steps are narrow (my foot barely fits on the step) and they (still) don't have the ''rough'' texture that they should have - the surface of the steps is ''smooth'' which is obviously dangerous. I did tell the manager, but nothing was done about it. Maybe I can't sue, but something should still be done about the staircase - making it safer. Please respond. Thank you.

Report the building to the department of Building and Safety and see if they can act on it. Your right is time barred

You may have had a good case at one time, but it is now much too late to sue.

Re: Personal Injury/Slip & fall

You can call the City like another lawyer said. You can also write a letter to the manager and owner of the property. That way, you can "paper" them so that when someone else gets hurt and sues, there will be documentary evidence that the the manager and owner had knowledge of the dangerous condition.
