Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I live in an area where in the past there were earthquakes. There is a fence bordering with my neighbor's property. It is old but appears to be in a good shape. If the fence falls into their property by an earthquake, am I liable for damages to their property and removal of debris?

Assuming the fence is on your property and not the property line, you are not responsible for the damage caused by an act of God as there was no negligence on your part. I am not positive as to who has the responsibility to remove the debris; if you have homeowners insurance and the neighbor does too, one of them will pay for it. Probably the neighbor would have the obligation to remove the debris on their property since you wee not at fault for it getting there.
