Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I was served a Unlawful Detainer Complaint with no summons and no case number listed. It has been over a week and the court states no such case has been filed. So is this complaint even legal?

No. Ignore it and report it to the court and ask them to sanction the person doing this.

If no case has been filed, the court is not going to have jurisdiction to impose sanctions.

It sounds to me like someone, your landlord, does not know what he or she is doing. But it also sounds as though you have a problem with this landlord that has led to this. Have you spoken to an attorney yet about your rights and the problem?
