Thanks for your posting. Although your case began in 1996, it sounds in your case as though it has been continuing, which means you may have the right to file for certain acts in the past. The fact that you've notified your employer is good, and from what you've stated, you do have rights here, including the right to be free from a hostile work environment, sexual harassment, and retaliation.

You must file a complaint in civil court. Please obtain representation immediately. You should be able to find an attorney willing to take the matter on a contingency basis. Sexual harrassment is a dispicable tort that must not go unprosecuted. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.

With the right to sue letter in hand, you should be able to find any number of lawyers willing to take a look at your case at no charge. Recent court decisions in California will go a long way in support of your position.

I suggest that you contact a lawyer in the area close to your home. Find one who handles these type of cases and who has actually gone to trial on one or more.

Your claim may be time-barred unless you can show that you suffered harassment and/or retaliation within the past year. There is law concerning a continuing course of conduct which may allow you to proceed.
