Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

potential termination

I work for a large corporation, but in a small store (video rentals), I am a shift leader at this store and work the night shift. Yesterday I was called into the office and suspended with potential termination. A fellow female coworker filed a complaint that I tapped her on the behind with a DVD box while we were at the registers helping customers. She stated that ''she was laughing at me having computer problems and that I reached over and taped her with the box and said oh Shush'' '' she then stated that she told me that was inappropriate, to which she says I gave no reply. I have no recolection of this incident, and I beleive I would remeber her telling me that. What is my recourse in this situation????

Re: potential termination

Your recourse is to cooperate with the investigation and tell the truth about what did or did not happen. Most employment is considered an "at-will" relationship, which means you could be terminated for no reason or even an unfair reason. Unless you have evidence that you may really be fired for an illegal reason (meaning the motive is one which is unlawful), there would not be any legal recourse.
